All About My Life

From the first page to the last I thought that Gerda had a life that most people could never surive. What stuck out to me the most was the letter from Erika. Her letter contained some gruesome images and thoughts for such a young person. Erika said that " I am in the dark, alone in the dark, just as my heart and soul will forever remain." When I first read this it I thought how a person could ever think this way and still be so young and full of life. I shortly found out why she would says this after hearing and seeing what had happen to her loved ones, such as her mother, baby brother and her lover. I would have no idea what I would do if I saw my mothers dead body laying in a pill of dead, bloody bodies as if she was a piece of trash. This must of had a tragic effect on Gerda. Another thing that stuck out to me the most was when Gerda decided to with her friend Ilse at the camp. The first thing that came to mind to me when i read this that Gerda is a very loyal friend. Gerda gave up freedom just to stay with her friend Ilse.
